Northeastern Minnesota Community Development Grant Programs
Iron Range Resources' grant programs support economic activity within the Taconite Assistance Area by enriching and expanding the unique resources of Iron Range communities. A variety of grants are available to local units of government and nonprofits that promote sustainable communities.
In FY 2009, Iron Range Resources invested more that $18.7 million in grants for business and community development. The $18.7 million leveraged more than $112.4 million in total project expenditures.
Since the agency’s community development program began in the late 1970s, Iron Range Resources has provided $523.6 million for community development projects within the Taconite Assistance area.
